Issue 112

Here at Research Outreach we’re devoted to making high quality cutting-edge research and information accessible to a wider audience. In this first issue of 2020 we continue to strive to bring you the latest research developments across the world.

A multidisciplinary team of researchers are working together to find new ways to tackle cognitive problems in MS patients. We learn more from Professor Roshan das Nair, Dr Nikos Evangelou and Professor Rob Dineen of the University of Nottingham, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH).

Collectively, meningitis and neonatal sepsis are the second biggest infectious killers of children aged under five globally. We speak to Vinny Smith, Chief Executive of Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), who tells us more about MRF’s future goals to improve the rate of prevention, provide better diagnosis and treatment, and create an easily accessible infrastructure of information and support.

Membership organisation the Europlanet Society promotes the active advancement of planetary science in Europe. We learn more about their aims of fostering a new community of planetary knowledge and expertise from Secretary of their Executive Board, Anita Heward.

We hope you enjoy this issue of Research Outreach as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together.
